2015 is Dalston Music Festival’s inaugural year – celebrating Hackney’s finest music and culture. Free outdoor party in Gillett square, featuring top DJs and sound systems playing music in the sunshine.
Eight of Dalston’s leading venues will open their doors to wristband holders from midday onwards as they host some of London’s finest live acts, DJs and record labels.
Armed with a wristband, festival goers will be free to roam between the different stages, opening the doors to over 40 acts and unlocking the magic of the night until sunrise. Each venue is within a stone’s throw of the square, transforming Dalston into a musical wonderland for the day.
In conjunction with NTS, Phonica and Dalston Studios: the line-up includes: electronic icon Daphni; dancefloor polemicist Funkineven; London-based house-master DJ Pioneer; bashment soundsystem Heatwave; daughter of Dennis Brown and crown princess of reggae, Marla Brown; Dalston legend Newton Dunbar; jazz-synthesist Tom Furse; experimental duo Tomaga; French producer High Wolf; jazz singer / songwriter Orlando; electronic artist Vindicatrix; DJ babe Siobhan Bell; Stereolab star Laetitia Sadier; genius duo Steve Noble & Alex Ward; and Hackney legend Norma Winstone to name but a few.
